Common Mistakes During Umrah

Performing Umrah is the ultimate desire and a great blessing of Allah Almighty. Whether a person goes frequently for Umrah or for the first time through Packages for Umrah, not every Muslim knows about all the rules and regulations of the minor pilgrimage i.e. one can forget sometimes. It’s a common thing and nothing to be ashamed of. One can always learn the proper way of performing it. That’s why it remains advised to educate yourself on umrah rituals, its obligations, and prohibitions before actually departing for it.

Here are some of the common mistakes to avoid during umrah.

Not changing Ihram Clothing.

When performing Umrah during crowded times, ihram can get dirty. Sometimes, it also gets torn. However, most of the people think that changing their ihram clothing will make their umrah invalid. That is completely untrue. Ihram is a state in which a pilgrim is forbidden to trim its nails and hair, use fragrances, involve in intimacy with its spouse, kill an animal/insect. If there’s the need to change the sheets of ihram, one is permissible for it. Even a pilgrim can bathe (with fragrance-free toiletries or only water).

Passing through the front of a person who is offering Salah.

In Haram, everyone is busy in its Umrah prayers. Some are offering salah, while some are performing tawaf and other rituals. Many pilgrims in a hurry, make the mistake of passing through the front of a person who is offering salah. It is extremely wrong and sinful. If a person needs to exit or go from one place to another, it should wait until the Salah complete and then pass.

Kissing the Black Stone.

Kissing the Black Stone is one of the necessary rituals of tawaf. But that doesn’t mean one has to necessarily touch the Hajar-e-Aswad or physically kiss it also. According to the Sunnah of Holy Prophet (SAWW);

1. If sufficient space is available that a person can easily kiss the Hajar-e-Aswad with its lips without hurting anyone, it’s advisable to do so.
2. If the crowd is the huge and appropriate room is not available, one should point its hands in the direction of the Black Stone, recite Niyyah, and then kiss its hands afterward. Therefore, not hurting or pushing anyone in the crowd.

Both of these methods are the sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW).

Making Dua in a Loud Voice (in unison).

Some groups of pilgrims lead by an Imam, while performing Tawaf, make Dua in Unison. The imam recites the Dua and then the group repeats after it in unison. Therefore, it becomes a source of disturbance for other pilgrims and thus, is wrong. One should only recite Dua in its heart in such a voice that it doesn’t disturb the peace of any other pilgrim.

In this regard, Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) said that; (description) every pilgrim is conversing with his Lord, Allah Almighty. So, you should neither disturb anybody nor raise your voices over one another when reading or praying.

If you are traveling for umrah through your Cheap February Umrah Packages, or in other months, always be mindful of these mistakes.
